Mission Statement

The mission of Downingtown Strong is to aid those in the Downingtown area who have been impacted by a natural disaster or an emergency hardship.

Downingtown Strong is a grassroots organization created in 2023 after the Downingtown are was severely impacted by flooding from Hurricane Ida in 2021.  Downingtown Strong is focused on providing aid through direct services and individual support for those who have been impacted by a natural disaster or emergency hardship.

This aid may be temporary, such as food or shelter in the immediate aftermath of a storm or home fire, or long-term assistance with housing, childcare, or counseling.

Downingtown Strong was founded by individuals from the same neighborhoods served, and is made up of a team of dedicated local volunteers.  We believe the combined efforts of neighbors helping neighbors is the best strategy for creating a more equitable and whole community.
